Environmental Protection and Awareness
Youth Partnership Uganda under its programme environmental protection and awareness our major focus at the moment is the community in the Rwenzori region especially those sub counties that lies along mount Rwenzori national park, that is to say Kasese Bundibugyo kabarole and Bunyangabu district respectively targeting the Youth between the ages of 16 -25 who are still energetic to help in environmenta protection and awareness campaign.
Our major concerns we are trying to address include:, Poverty eradication, Climate change, Environmental protection, Agricultural participation, Community Livelihood Support through our project titled: Poverty and Environment Protection we aim at Enhancing the landscape and visual interest of local neighborhood. providing and expanding shelter, recreational and amenity resources, to neighborhoods, schools and recreational areas providing (by-planting) native, non-native and improved tree species so as to plant and care for up to 75000 trees in two years., restore/improve the canopy and thus beautify the area, enable community start working toward a more secure livelihood for the benefit of future generations of humans and other living species.
will strengthen local capacity, policies, and implementation resources (for example participatory M&E, planning, action research) for integrated ecosystem management at grassroots level.
run grass root biodiversity – based enterprises such as cultivation of medicinal plants, enhance capacity of local communities to manage community based poverty/environment/conflict transformation projects sustainably, enhance capacity of local communities to influence policy formulation, dialogue implementation and/or reform on environmental management.
